Canadians have been reaching for Lay’s potato chips for decades. But what many don’t realize is that the journey from farm to bag begins much closer to home than they might think. This summer, Lay’s is celebrating the people who make it all possible: the Canadian farming families growing the potatoes behind every bag. Don’t believe Lay’s potato chips are made from Canadian potatoes? We’ll “Betcha the Farm” they are.
The new “Betcha the Farm” campaign is a celebration of Canadian farmers, many of whom have been growing potatoes for PepsiCo Canada for decades. With playful confidence and heartfelt storytelling, the Lay’s brand is bringing farming to the forefront, showcasing the real relationships built with local growers and highlighting the pride they take in every harvest.

Across English Canada, the campaign features the Perry family from Coaldale, Alberta. For more than 40 years, they’ve been supplying potatoes for PepsiCo Canada, tending to the land with the kind of care that only comes from generations of experience. “Growing potatoes is more than just a job, it’s a way of life for our family,” says Chris Perry. “We’ve been working with PepsiCo Canada for decades, and we’re proud to grow the Canadian potatoes that go into millions of bags of Lay’s potato chips.”

In Québec, viewers are introduced to Martin Goyet of Les Fermes MVG in St. Thomas de Joliette. With over 30 years of partnership, his farm has become part of PepsiCo’s deep agricultural roots in the region. “We’re very excited to see our farm featured in this campaign,” says Martin. “We’ve been growing potatoes for PepsiCo Canada for decades, and it means a lot to show Canadians that Lay’s potato chips start with families like ours.”
These aren’t isolated stories. The Lay’s brand sources approximately 800 million Canadian potatoes every year, from 15 family-run farms spanning Alberta, Ontario, Québec and Prince Edward Island. Behind every crispy and tasty chip is a Canadian family with their hands in the soil, working together to grow quality potatoes for snack lovers across the country.
Since 1972, PepsiCo Canada has proudly partnered with local farmers. It’s a relationship rooted in trust, consistency, and mutual respect. Now, through a series of videos, campaign images and behind-the-scenes moments, Canadians get a chance to hear directly from some of those farmers, on their farm, and with just the right amount of Lay’s-style fun.
