Lucy joined PepsiCo twelve years ago, just a month after she arrived in Canada with her eight-year-old daughter. As a single mother in an unknown country, far from family and friends, Lucy’s priority was to earn a living to support her daughter.
“Pepsi was the first company who gave me an opportunity to work and provide for my daughter,” she shared.
With that opportunity, Lucy built a decade-long legacy that continues to flourish. Her duties include monitoring production lines, using special equipment to perform tests to ensure product quality and what she enjoys most - being in the laboratory alongside her colleagues and surrounded by innovative equipment.
“Lucy has been with PepsiCo for 12 years, but you'd think she's been here for 40. Her knowledge of our quality systems is among the best at our site,” says Vidhur Verghese, Sr. Plant Manager, Winnipeg.
Vidhur adds that Lucy voices her opinions fearlessly, ensuring that the Winnipeg quality, production, and maintenance teams have quality control knowledge and training to do their jobs properly. “It’s very special to see Lucy lead the quality team—her tenacity is one of a kind.”
